Our Story
JoySabi Teas began as a heartfelt tribute to Jayanta Dutta Choudhury, a devoted tea lover who inspired his family with his passion for a perfect brew twice a day. Founded by Basabi (wife) and Joyeeta (daughter) in his memory, our all-women-led company started in a small room, crafting teas under the guidance of their son, a professional tea taster.
Today, we create premium blends of herbal and orthodox teas and tisanes, capturing the love and timeless tradition of tea. At JoySabi, every cup commemorates a cherished legacy while sharing the joy of tea with the world.

Joyeeta Dutta Choudhury
Founder & CEO
Armed with a B.Sc. in Statistics from Lady Brabourne College, Kolkata, and an M.A. in Marketing Communications from Commits, Bangalore, brings a blend of analytical and creative expertise to JoySabi.
Her career began with Saatchi & Saatchi, followed by roles in digital marketing agencies and as a Brand Manager for Mora Taara, where she developed her passion for e-commerce. Inspired by her father’s love for tea, Joyeeta combines her professional insights and personal drive to create a thriving e-commerce tea store.

She has got it all - a degree. in Philosophy, Comparative Literature and Education from the top Presidency College, Jadavpur University and St Xavier's College in Kolkata.
Basabi dedicated 40 years of her life to teaching primary school students, she touched countless lives as a passionate teacher. Driven by a desire to embrace a new chapter, Basabi channelled her passion for learning into co-founding JoySabi, evolving gracefully into a business owner while honouring her late husband’s memory.
